Along the left of the piano roll is a set of keys where the higher you go along the vertical axis, the higher the pitch of the note. If you’re recording with an external MIDI controller, it’s also where all the notes are recorded and represented. The Piano Roll is a representation of the sequencer where you have the ability to create complex melodies from a particular channel.
